Six credit card receipts later... A tab at the bar -- tab out, move to a table in the bar -- tab out, have dinner -- tab out; pay for an hour of Bocce ($22) -- credit card receipt for that; drinks while playing Bocce -- tab out; move back to bar -- tab out. You'll need big pockets to hold all of the credit card receipts. ...you think there's an opportunity for improvement here ? Food was ok (side salad was in the bottom 10% -- being generous there) -- but the Scallop special was above average. Wanted to play Bocce...they explained that those courts are reserved a week or two in advance (sure, kudos to that group of uber-planners). However, "here's a pager, if something opens up, we'll page you". 10 minutes later, we get a page -- jeez, okay, I guess we'll close out this tab and head over. Paid $44 for an hour of Bocce -- what? there's a place to tip on the Bocce reservation receipt -- what's next? tipping the guy who wiped the teriyaki sauce off my menu? Anyway, waited 15 minutes for our Bocce server to explain the rules (they don't want to print or post them anywhere -- needs to be a "personal touch") -- so $44/hour for Bocce ($22 per couple x 2) on a Friday night makes it an expensive game to learn. It was fun...still don't understand the rules though. Parking's a disaster -- can't really blame Pinstripes for that...definitely an issue for all of the businesses at Prairie Fire. Just head to the top if the parking garage -- there are usually spots up there...just need to wait behind people looking to score a prime spot one floor down from the top. We spent 15 minutes just getting to a parking spot...whatever, this is NYC after all ( actually, no it's not) I doubt that I will return...even though I live just a couple miles away. One and done for this reviewer. Oh, and I think I spent quite a bit but I'll need a calculator (or an Accountant) to get the final tally.

We went to an Elite Yelp event last night & really had fun! Pinstripes provided most of the food except the dessert which was Nothing Bundt Cakes. The cakes were fine, but nothing out of this world. The beer was by New Belgium & it was Snap Shot & we actually liked it! We were also impressed with the hummus & the fig & prosciutto flat bread pizza by Pinstripes. Very good & would never have ordered hummus at a bowling alley, but after trying it last night I will order next! We sat outside by the firepit & it was so relaxing & enjoyable! We sat near an outside bocce ball "field?" and wanted to play since we love to, but chose to go bowl instead. So after getting our fill of food we went in & bowled a game. The facilities are really nice with leather couches, nice lanes, & actually good shoes :) I'm not sure what the pricing is since we were free, but I would totally go again and to not just to bowl but I would actually eat there! Good job to Yelp for setting it up & Pinstripes for hosting, it was a fun date night!

I bet the bowling there is fun but I just ate in the restaurant. I had their BBQ chicken pizza. BOMB! Very bomb. I would go again. I really want to go bowling but can't find the time :(

While we have had an OK experience with the food, we have had two bad experience with the bowling alleys in two visits separated by a couple of weeks. In our first, the bowling front desk reset our game by mistake while trying to set up another alley for another group. Very frustrating when you are on your way for a personal best and 2 two rounds to go. The personnel did not even offer an apology for their mistake. We ended our second visit extremely frustrated: our lane (6) had issues returning the balls. The pin would be reset properly but our balls would tend to not come back regularly. At some point, we had 4 balls come back at a time. Later, the lane got completely stuck and we had to call for help. One person came and tried a few things without success. She then called another person who also tried without success. She then called her manager who came to me and first asked: "so, you kept throwing balls at a broken alley?". It really made me upset as her first instinct was not to try to make it right for a group of 5 customers, but to try to blame the malfunction on the customers themselves. I explained that we had been waiting for 20 minutes for someone competent to help us, and that we felt quite insulted with her first statement. When we explained that we had waited enough, she asked for our receipt and then decided to do a refund. Here again, the customer service is far from optimum. They spoiled the game for 5 players, but only refunded two games as there were only two remaining rounds. Lame! Pinstripes needs to train their bowling personnel to both technical management of the alley and customer service. While I really enjoy the location, the food and the game, I will think twice before taking my family there again. They have already messed up two of our two visits.

We took our entire family here for my child's birthday - dinner and bowling. They called two days prior to our reservation, which was made a month ago, to confirm. Good thing they did because they had the wrong day! Most of the staff are very friendly, but several of them seem to have a bit of an attitude or just didn't seem like they knew what was going on. We were seated and asked we FOUR TIMES to add two more chairs to the table. Finally, I was about to just go take them for myself when a server finally helped accommodate our party. After that, it took about 20 minutes for our server to ask for our drink orders and a total of 45 minutes to take our orders. The food came out fairly quickly and was presented very well, though the taste was not up to par. My grandmother said hers tasted like Spaghetti-O's. Our waitress was MIA almost the entire meal. Were were running late to our bowling reservation due to the lack of service, so we asked to take our birthday cake to the bowling alley with us. They were very accommodating. When we were ready for the cake, AGAIN had to ask several people to get the cake. Nobody follows through, they "check on" things. Bowling was fun and a good price on Sunday nights. Love the sofa and extra seating. So, we may be back for bowling but probably not for dining.

Bocce was fun but that was about all. The food was overpriced and my fusili and goat cheese chicken was terrible. It was a plate of mush with barely any noodles recognizable. The spinach dip was bland at best. The server was a nice kid. I asked for a lime for my water and he brought me a new glass of water- no lime. He finally got it right, though. Pinstripes needs some tuning. I cannot tell you how bad the food was, though. It was the kind of meal where you were looking for something afterwards to eat to get the taste out of your mouth. BLAH.

I eat at the Pinstripes in Northfield Ill. Fairly often, and like it. First, I like Bocce and bowling, but the food was just ok. I got the BBQ chicken flatbread, my wife got the chicken and goat cheese pasta, and my daughter got the lasagna. We all thought it was ok.. My wife's wine poor was weak according to her (lush), I had a decent glass of Belgium beer. Great place to hang out on the porch or pay Bocce with friends, but I won't drop another $100 on dinner again. The highlight was the profiteroles my daughter ordered, skip dinner and order those and pocket $90+!

We attended the location for a work event. We had the patio upstairs and were seated outside. Most of the servers - especially Kyle AKA "Tyrone" as we renamed him, were very friendly and helpful. To be honest the Managers that were on we're the ones that were not friendly and like the earlier negative post - no name tags or introductions. Reason why I am sure as seems a common theme with all other posts. We stayed late playing bowling and had a blast. Perk is the free socks they give you! The food was very good - especially the cheesecake desserts. Would come back if visiting again.

Had dinner here for the 2nd time last night. Wife and I both had the seafood Taglietelli, and it was great. I also had the lobster bisque, which was among the best I've had. The tiramisu gelato was just ok, kind of icy, vs creamy. Service was great both times, very attentive and helpful. Would definitely eat here on a future visit to the OP.

The location has a bit of an upscale feel and look, and prices to match. The bowling area has nice couches, and wood floors and furnishings. I came here a few months ago for bowling only. They have 8 lanes with enough seating for only three right next to the lane, an additional love seat is available every two lanes, and a high table with two stools per lane is available a bit further back. The lanes are a bit cramped and the sparse seating can make it uncomfortable for large groups; a couple on a date will be perfectly comfortable. They also have three bocci lanes inside and two outside. We were back at prairie fire today and decided to stop there for dinner. We sat outside in the outside area which is ample, complete with a fire pit surrounded by chairs. There was also live music in front of the location which made the outside atmosphere livelier. They have a varied menu: pizzas, flatbreads, burgers, and sandwiches ranging from $13 to $15. Pastas are also available, from $15 to $20, and other entrees (filet mignon and braised ribs come to mind ) in the mid to high $20 range. The beer menu is small but varied, and there is a nice variety of house cocktails. Service was a little slow, but the waiter was polite. Several minutes after placing our order the server came by to apologize for the delay, indicating he had not hit the send button after entering the order, and our meal was further delayed. I really appreciated the honestyand the free dessert he offered to make up for the wait. Although prices are a bit high portions are generous and the presentation and atmosphere are appealing. However, the food wasn't particularly great. The mashed potatoes were a bit bland, the grilled vegetable flatbread was tasty, but a bit spicy which was an unpleasant and unexpected surprise (I don't like spicy), it also has too much Olive oil which made it a bit greasy, and made the bread soggy and difficult to handle. The dessert was the best part. We were given the flying trio. I'm a chocolate fiend and the frangelico chocolate cake was a disappointment but the caramelized cheesecake was great, and the apple pear bread pudding was even better.

The food was excellent! A little pricey but worth it. Also, they were very timely and officiant. I didn't like how close bowling is with others. It felt like we were eating with the other family that was playing next to us.

Nice place. Its open, with live music throughout the week. A little bit pricey but it taste good, and they serve a lot. They have great variety of alcoholic beverages and a nice happy hour of half price drinks. Fries are really good, and burgers too. Lasagna looks tasty and they have great variety of wines to match! I had a spicy chicken sandwich and it was not as spicy as I expected, in fact it was not at all. The server was very nice, however he messed up our order canceling it instead of sending it. He took care of it and gave us a free dessert sampler! The restaurant is very nice, it has great area outside, so you can hear the daily live music, they also have bowling and bocce games. Bathrooms are clean. The Area where the restaurant is located is full of other great unique restaurants, stores and movie theater so you can make of dinner a great experience

The food was on point. Decadent & Delicious! #Fancy! My Partner and I celebrated our 21st Monthssary here and I couldn't be more happy dining here on our special day! The place is stunning and with the beautiful sunny weather, we definitely had to eat in their outdoor seating. One of the perks of being a Yelp elite is that there's usually prize drawings at the elite events and I just so happen to recently win a gift certificate from the last event! So thanks Yelp for a lovely dinner at Pinstripes :) We also got these special red wristbands, so every time we dine in at Pinstripes, we get one glass of either red or white wine for free! (I'm not sure how to actually obtain, try asking the Pinstripes folks to hook you up with one!) We came on a Tuesday evening, so there was no wait. FYI they do not do same day reservations for dining, lol so for all you procrastinators I suggest to call in and reserve at least one to a few days before your date :) Our waiter was top notch. He even made sure to take lots of photos of us just to get that "perfect" shot with the sun behind us and our food glistening in front of us hehe. Bravo Samir, Bravo. (I think that was his name haha) Appetizer: Fried Calamari was fried to perfection. The tomato sauce that accompanied it, helped bring out the flavor of the calamari. Succulent and if we didn't have entrees, I would have ordered a second helping! Entrees: My Italian Jambalaya Risotto came out looking like was cooked up by a MasterChef! Presentation was FAB! It looked so classy. Actually everything about Pinstripes is the definition of classy! So glad we wore striped polos. #preppyboysforaday. Anywho, back to the food. The shrimp was grilled with such flavor! Like they were ridiculously tasty. The grilled chicken was a close second place to the shrimp. I love Surf and Turf dishes...and this has catapulted itself to the top of my faves with its very soul food-ish risotto! I liked how it was your usual jambalaya, it had the perfect amount of sauce and not drenched in it. WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK JUST FOR THIS DISH! :) My partner's Gnocchi & Ahi Tuna was good too. Now I have to admit that I'm not the biggest fan of Gnocchi, so it wouldn't be fair of me to review it....BUT that Ahi Tuna though was delicious. Dessert: House-made Chocolate Profiteroles: OMG. I died and came back from heaven after my first bite. I love these fancy cream puffs filled with gelato. So sweeeeeet and gosh oh so delicious. Oh did I mention they drizzled hot fudge on top! Paired quite well with our white wine! I adore this place! I loved the bowling and bocce experience, but after dining here...I LOVE IT EVEN MORE! :) :) :) Happy Eating!

We had a group reservation for about 20. They didn't seem to have it together when we arrived. They basically didn't know who we were or where our group was meeting. After a discussion between a few staff member's they got us situated. They have a diverse drink menu and the appetizers were all delicious: tomato-mozzarella bruschetta antipasta & cheese platter hummus and avocado platter We ordered too many meals to list, but the food did not taste as if we were in a bowling alley, but at five star restaurant. We played bocce ball, which was fun, but the lane was anything but level. As far as service and facility, I was not impressed. The food though, was great.

There is definitely a problem in the process with this place. The managers and staff seem to be clueless but I don't blame them. I got the feeling they just don't have any structure or leadership to follow. The reservations are pointless and confusing. We reserved and were given a two hour window over the phone (mind you, this was for a 60th birthday party. We wanted dinner and bowling to be a blast so we were very thorough, speaking with several people over the course of a few weeks in an attempt to avoid hiccups). Then an hour onto our reservation they basically kicked us out. Upon notifying them of the 2 hour time frame we reserved they told us they don't even reserve by time frames? I got the feeling we just got deprioritized for a very large booking opportunity that must have presented itself after we made our reservations. This just furthered my suspicions about the terrible practices starting at the top. I could go on but you can clearly see a trend from the reviews of this place that it is a cluster... As others have pointed out, the food and drink selection are good. Owners/GM however, should be ashamed and embarrassed. I'll never go back.

I attended a Yelp Elite event here and had such a great time playing bocce that a group of us from work decided to celebrate a co-worker's birthday here. Several of us played bocce for an hour. This is the first time I've played bocce somewhere like this, so I'm not sure if $20 an hour (maybe $5 per person per hour?) is a normal charge or not. It seemed a little ridiculous, but we had a lot of fun. We went on a Monday specifically for the bottomless spaghetti and meatballs and chopped salad. The food was actually good, especially the salad. It was served family style. The more servings we got, however (two salads and three servings of spaghetti and meatballs for a table of five), the less impressive they were. More lettuce and less cheese on the salad. Fewer meatballs in the spaghetti. It was still good, it was just obvious what was going on. I got a free wristband at the Yelp event (good for a glass of wine), but anyone can get one by signing up for the email list. It's definitely worth a little spam. Overall, a very entertaining place with what seems like a good menu. If their 'bottomless' meal was that tasty, I feel like actually ordering off the menu will be a slam dunk. The patio was also very comfortable, and I look forward to going back in the fall to hang out by the fire pits.

I didn't eat here. Went bowling after dinner across the street and this is not the place you want to go bowling. Lanes hadn't been oiled in at least 3-4 days and there was food all over the approach, making my shoes extra sticky.

Stopped by not long after opening on a Sunday and had the games part of the place to ourselves, at least for a slight bit of time. We decided to play bocce, and there were three "courts" (lanes?) downstairs, and appeared to be more upstairs...but still not many. Price was $5 per person per hour, which seems very fair. There was also food and drink service to your court/lane, which took a while to arrive at first but after that was efficient. The courts themselves have a carpet-y texture and are very, very fast when you're used to playing on grass. So I recommend a few practice throws first, and still then be prepared to take a while to learn your speeds. My first game was awful, but I was much better after that. The courts did fill up and it got fairly tight. I wish there was a bit more space in between courts. The bowling area next door also got full, and looked really nice. Will have to return for that - leather couches, etc. We were there during sunday brunch and it looked good, but also was $20 and didn't quite look $20 worthy, but who knows. The facility itself was very, very warm - it was a warm day, but it seemed like they were trying to cut back on the air conditioner usage, and it wasn't pleasant. Big strike against them there. They don't take same-day reservations for courts/lane, but you can call ahead (assumingly) a day or two to reserve. Will certainly return...on a cooler day.

After a super fun Yelp event here, I returned to redeem the brunch for four that I won. After our table ordered a round of mimosas, we hit the brunch buffet. I had a made to order omelette, some fruit, and a crepe. As much as I love omelettes, the crepe stole the show. There were three different toppings for the crepes, including homemade whipped cream, a nutella sauce, and a delicious creme anglaise. So good! We all enjoyed our food until we decided to try the dessert section of the buffet. The idea of a chocolate fountain with tons of delectables to dip is appealing, however, 7 unattended children grabbing items with their bare hands and shoving them under/into the chocolate fountain is NOT appetizing. I know this is a parental issue, and not the fault of Pinstripes, but it was just a big turnoff.

Very busy place. We had a large group and had to split between 2 tables. The sun was setting and the glare coming in the windows made it impossible to talk with the those that had the sun to their backs. They need to put some shades on the higher windows. Although we had to wait way too long for drinks, they were good once they arrived. Our waitress was great but she was running around like crazy so maybe they need more help

Although we went on a very busy Tuesday night - they had a group event going on and we had to share space with a bunch of people who thought it was OK to takeover the ENTIRE space - we had a good time. We ate dinner and bowled a couple of games downstairs. The food was better than I expected. Cheeseburger was cooked as ordered and quite tasty. My wife had the grilled chicken club. My son tried the smoked salmon flatbread. My mother-in-law had the marj pizza. We all enjoyed our meals. The only thing I didn't care for were the French fries. We ordered a couple of plates of s'mores for dessert. The orders are quite generous... I would suggest sharing a single order to start, then ordering more if needed. Next time I call for reservations I'll make sure we don't get shoved in the middle of a large group.

Despite my well-earned review, I decided to return to Pinstripes for bocce and some appetizers. We had reserved our bocce court several days in advance, and had no problems checking in and getting started. We did ask when prepaying for our court time that we have a waiter come over so we could order (we had two young hungry kids with us). I was told that our server would be over right away. A few minutes later, a server came to the next court over to clean up from a previous group. We asked when she finished and was ready, would she come back so we could put an order in. She politely told us she wasn't our server but would ask the assigned server to come on over. Fast forward to 35 minutes into our hour's worth of reserved court time, and still no server. By now I have a frustrated family and two kids that just want to go and eat. I went to the front desk to let them know of our situation and I spoke with a manager (no name tag), who told me that they would "use this as a learning opportunity", and then promptly - and this is not an exaggeration- then turned her back to me. At that point, what should have been a relaxing and fun time turned into a visit that left me angry and fuming. I didn't show anything visibly, because in part, I couldn't believe what I was seeing and experiencing. I gathered the family up 40 minutes into our 60 minute reservation. On our way out, I spoke with the same staff member at the front desk and asked to see the manager again. She looked at me as if she had never seen me before. She said there wasn't a manager I could speak with at the moment and couldn't seem to find the general manager's business card. I left holding a business card for one of the regular managers, who didn't answer my phone call later in the day. I was able to call during the dinner rush and got the name of the General Manager, so hopefully tomorrow will be an opportunity to have a productive conversation as I am sure this isn't how corporate wants their staff members and managers to treat guests. On the upside, we went to Paradise Cafe, spent the money we planned to spend at Pinstripes and had great food and great service from our server Nicole (apparently at Paradise Cafe, they aren't afraid to wear name tags).

I really like this place! Have tried 2 of their flatbread pizzas they are really amazing. The bartender is nice too. Don't know about eating anywhere else in the place, I've only been sat at the bar twice and had a lot of fun. Maybe the bocce ball or bowling sucks like others say...but on my next trip in I'm going to try it anyway!!!

I'll try my best to be fair. this review is only about the resturant 1- Table issue + Waitress's attitude My friends and I went here to eat and we decided "oh hey lets sit outside that should be nice right?" Wrong. Thats on us. The sun was beating down on us and we decided after we ordered our drinks if we could ask the waitress to move to the more shady side. Should the host have some fault in the fact that she didnt really think about "where" she was seating us? I think so. Anyways we asked someone and they said "we "might" have a table open let me see what we can do" He comes back and helps us move, theres a ton of open tables i dont know why he made it out to be such a hassle. Basically he didnt really want us to move. So now we're seated near the fireplace...oh how i love a fireplace on a 93 degree weather day. Im not sure if they were thinking 'lets have the fire going, the smoke will make the bugs go away" but if its not enough smoke, light draws more bugs in. We sit down and my plate has a dead bug on it, like a small fly i didnt care i didnt make a big deal about it i just put it aside. obviously dont use that plate. but my problem was the bugs kept flying onto me im not sure what made them so attracted to me, someone suggested my "Fruit" scented hair spray i dont know but basically there was a lot of bugs all over me and i cant eat with bugs flying on my face, sorry i just cant so i asked the waitress to move again and yes i did feel bad about it i understand its an annoyance but dont give me attitude about it. the first time we changed my sister said the waitress roll her eyes and the 2nd time i saw her give another waiter a "look". I understand they have their sections...but i wasnt being a complete a-hole to her about it. and when i asked her to move she said there may not be any tables inside (cue for me to say oh nevermind) but when we go in yea...there is atleast 5 open tables or booths. really? im sorry i must have made her life so difficult. her day was ruined. whatever. basically my biggest problem was the waitress' attitude even though i will say she tried to hide it and show it behind our backs to the other employees like we cant see her so that was nice. she wasnt a B in front of us so i will give her that. Finally my other issue is the food. Its inconsistent, last time my lobster bisque was too salty this time around it was good. for my friend, her flatbread was good last time but too salty this time. the food is just "ok" my ribs were super dry and small. my two other friends got lasagne and risotto and they said it was "alright". so overall i wont go back and wont recommend. Go to pinstripes if you dont care how your food taste.

I was here last week with my husband for his office party. The food looked and smelled very good but I couldn't eat anything because I am vegan. We spoke with one of the servers and he offered to make me a personal pizza. This was literally the best vegan pizza I have ever had. And now I'm going to pester them to make it for takeout. Additionally, their outdoor space was really beautiful and perfect for a get together. We played bocce ball and then sat around the fire pit.

My company held their annual holiday party here, which was a big success. We had a good-sized ballroom type of space set up with round tables, with a nice buffet. Food was good, if a little unimaginative -- sliders, sandwiches -- but the desserts were great. Wine selection was good, and the servers & bartenders were quite plentiful & friendly. The bocce courts (which were opened up to us after the managers gave us the obligatory rah-rah speeches) were a ton of fun! As other reviewers note, they're quite fast compared to grass. The pitch we were on had a pretty noticeable slope to the right, also. Didn't matter too much for a slightly tipsy holiday party game, but I wouldn't want to try to play it competitively.

Empty place, but everything is full ? We went to Pinstripes to hopefully play some Bocci or a few games of bowling this last Saturday. We arrived before 4pm and were told at the front desk that all of the bocci was taken until 5pm and then you pay for one hour. We had dinner reservations elsewhere at 6pm, so that wasn't going to work for us. She told us the cost of bowling and so we left the desk to form a plan. We returned a minute later and asked to bowl. We were then told there was no bowling avalable for the entire night. Would have been nice if she'd mentioned that when she told us the cost of bowling... We then went to sit outside to have a few drinks and hopefully watch some bocci. It should be noted, we only saw 2 groups playing bocci and there were 7 (at least) unused bocci courts. We also only saw 2 lanes being used for bowling and the rest were empty. Very fishy and odd. Once seated outdoors, we were ignored for some time. Finally a waiter came by and we placed drink orders and asked about the rotating flavors of gelato and sorbet. He didn't know them and disappeared for a while to find out. When he returned, we did order some gelato which took half an hour to come out and we had to flag down a staff member to ask about it. There was staff everywhere and yet we were mostly ignored and so were the few other tables around us. A group behind us just left the place after being ignored (also, they and the other tables all received free bread and dip while we never did). The gelato tasted okay going down, but made me sick later in the evening. At least the gin martini I ordered was good and the glass was very cold. The other food coming out did look good, but they don't have their acts together at all there right now. I may try again in the fall if I hear they've pulled it together. It's a nice idea, and the building is lovely, but the staff is incredibly unexperienced and slow.

We had a very nice experience at Pinstripes. The food was excellent as well as the service. Spending time on the Bocce Ball Pitch only added to the fun of the evening. Dinner was well prepared with ample portions and with cocktails the tab was less than forty dollars. Pinstripes has an above average wine selection however I did feel the bar was a bit over priced for well and call drinks. Once you get over the initial shock at the bar settle in for a nice dinner, I highly recommend the Chicken Marsala. Pinstripes is a fun place for a date night or groups. Parking can be a challenge so I recommend early arrival if your planning a weekend visit.

Took a work group here for some team bonding. While the atmosphere was great, the service was TERRIBLE! It was late afternoon on a weekday and they weren't very busy but our server was hard to track down and acted irritated to be waiting on us. The balls got jammed in the lanes multiple times and we waited quite a while each time for the issue to get resolved. Upon leaving, I asked to speak to the manager to share our disappointing experience. After waiting for several minutes for him, he did not really seem to care nor did he offer to do anything to make us feel better about the poor experience we had. I get the impression they only care about taking customer's money and could care less about the customer's experience.

Enjoyed 15 minutes on their patio. They brought menus. They changed the TV channel. And that was it. No server. No food . No water. No drinks. No fun

Horrendous service over and over and over again. Truly consistently pathetic. We've been here a dozen times and used to frequent Pin Stripes in Chicago. It's disappointing to see such a great concept go mismanaged.

I ordered the prosciutto flatbread. What came was not prosciutto, but back bacon. I pointed this out to the waitress, and she went and talked to the chef. The waitress came back and said the chef said that's what was supposed to be on the flatbread; that "prosciutto is just like bacon but more cured." Prosciutto is from a different cut of meat than bacon and cured a different way. I don't really trust food from a chef who doesn't know the different between prosciutto and bacon. Moved onto the bowling portion of the evening. The approach area is way too short. My husband was standing on the hardwood seating area at the start of his approach. And then at 8pm for "late night gaming" they turned off the lights and turned on black lights. Except since none of the approach markers or guide arrows fluoresced, it was basically just bowling in the dark. Not fun.

Just reviewing the Bistro... Nice setting with a vibrant atmosphere. Outdoor seating in a real patio is definitely a bonus. Started with the hummus appetizer and it was good. The dish included hummus, avocado hummus and a nice tomato and cheese dish. It was fresh and tasty. Entrees were good. I had the Gnocchi and Ahi dish. Ahi was a little undercooked and I'm pretty sure the gnocchi was bread dough that had been sliced into chunks and browned in a skillet. The whole thing was resting in a pool of olive oil. It was a deep pool of oil. Well go back for a second try, but there's opportunity for improvement.

Not enough staff for good service. Sat at the island bar and watched few drinks being served. Snippy bartender and just not worth trying for a second drink. Off to where u can get service.

The kids meal was very reasonably priced. It came with a starter meal beverage and dessert for only 8 dollars. The food was pretty decent although the bocce ball was a little pricey at 45 dollars for four people.

We came here tonight with a large group. All entrees were great. No one complained about quality or presentation. Things our group ordered Goat cheese and chicken past (could've used more chicken) 3 fillets - asparagus HUGE! Chicken Marsala Salmon Prime rib sandwich A few people ordered the s'mores dessert which can be shared. I suggest reserving lanes ahead of time for bowling. The atmosphere is more mature (no obnoxious kids or teens). Instead of plastic chairs they have nice leather sofas. There is a waiter to take drink and food orders. If you forget your socks like i did, they will give you a complimentary pair (to keep). Tip- parking garage is awful to navigate. They do offer free valet (which I will use next time).

6/12/2014 5:00pm - What a great setting inside Prairiefire. When you walk in the bowling and bocce ball are to your right and the restaurant is to your left. This place is laid out very well and looks like the perfect place to meet friends and hang out (and bowl and play bocce of course) There was a server there to greet and seat us right away. The decor is very open and the views to the outside are unblocked. The outside eating area is very large and has a perfect view down the street. We elected to eat inside. The menu has a little bit of everything for everybody. They have a good list of small plates and flat breads but be careful if you are not with a group and order a flat bread as an appetizer they are pretty big! We ordered the Ricotta and Honey Focaccia for our appetizer and it came on the same long paddle boards as the flat breads. On the board with the focaccia was a piece of honeycomb with the honey still on it and a sugar/cinnamon mix in small cup. What great combination! They brought our salads with our appitizer, eh, I can let that slide but when the brought our entrees just a minute after... Oooops. Somebody messed up that operation, we sent the entrees back. Speaking of salads the wife ordered the chop salad but had to chop it up herself! My Caesars salad was good but just a tad off from a traditional one. I knew that going in, it was on the menu. It had radicchio and fried polenta croutons. When they brought our entrees back they were clearly the same ones but were still delicious and still a good eating temperature. The wife ordered the special (that I cannot recall the name of right now) that had what I would describe as a triple wide fettuccine with some sausage and pork in a wonderful sauce. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan that was over single wide fettuccine with a delicious sauce. They gave me a knife and I do not know why because the chicken was easily cut with my fork and the pasta was so very fresh. After all of that no room for desert, maybe next time. this ain't the bowling alley food you ate when you were a kid!! YUM! We will certainly be going back here! Becasue the food was so darn good the minor food faux pas earned them 4 instead of 5 stars!

We just took a family from out of town to bowl, on a Friday night...Six kids, two games, $118 dollars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TO BOWL TWO GAMES. This is not counting food or drink. And our poor out-of-town guests saw the check. EMBARRASSING. Are we in LA? NYC? DC? Some luxury resort? That much money to BOWL!? RIDICULOUS. Before I posted this, I called management. They sympathized about weekend pricing, but were unwilling to do anything to fix this. I guess I should have insisted on seeing a manager before we left. Tricky, with out of town guests who know we are paying/arranged this. NOT GOING BACK. Too many great choices in O.P.

A large group of us went to Pinstripes for a friend's birthday. We started at the Bistro for dinner. We had a reservation and they sat us immediately. However, as different people from our group started arriving, they just told them "your party is sitting in the Bistro" and had them walk through the restaurant trying to find us. Several people commented on how they didn't like that. The dinner menu provided a good variety of items at various price points. I had the filet which comes with 3 different pieces of meat. I ordered it Medium, but it came out Medium-well/Well done. The potatoes were tasty though. I have to say that the service was good the entire night. The server was attentive and kept the drinks coming. She did try to charge me for an extra glass of wine, but with a table of 12 people you're bound to get something wrong. She quickly corrected my check and apologized for the confusion. After dinner we played bocce ball! There was some confusion with the reservation so we were able to play the first hour for free. The service while we were playing was great. The server was very attentive and brought drinks and food in a timely manner. It was Saturday night and there was live music out by the bar and bocce ball area which was a nice addition to the atmosphere. Parking was a zoo. With all of the different restaurants, movie theater, shops, etc. in that area, you would think that they would make sure that there is sufficient parking. Nope. The drink menu is on the back of the dinner menu, so once you order your dinner, your drink menu is gone. It was soooooo hot in the restaurant! Several of us complained (to one another) about how warm it was while we were having dinner. Pros: Fun atmosphere, good service, live music, bowling, bocce ball. Cons: Parking, terribly hot

Been here three times now. It's a pretty cool spot and has tons of potential. Let's start with the good: such a great idea to have bowling and bocce under one roof. No one else is doing that, and I'm a huge fan of both games. The place itself is nice and really well laid out. Also, the food I've tried so far there is really decent. Okay, and now the bad: last time I was there I tried ordering beers only to come to find that they don't carry Blue Moon, Boulevard, or Corona...which I found really odd. Honestly, I can't remember the last time I went to a place with a fully stocked bar and couldn't get a Boulevard. Also, the service is really dicey. Booking a a court/lane has already gone wrong once for me. The front desk people just seem a little disorganized is all...which seems to be a trend at Prairie Fire overall. Had the same issue at Cocoa Dolce. Edit: I've just been informed by another Yelp user that they do, in fact, have Boulevard products...which means my server informed me wrong by saying they didn't carry them.

I waited until I visited a few times before my review, but here it is in a nutshell. Restaurant food- tastes decent, with a pretty broad selection of items off the menu. The price was reasonable but service was questionable at best. Bocce Ball- Really enjoyed playing as it was my first time. We went on a Saturday night and it was really busy. We didn't have any issues as we got strarted on time and finished on time. Sunday Brunch- Great selection of items, but at $30 each they have priced me and my wife out. I wished we could order off a menu as she's a whole 5 foot tall and 100 lbs soaking wet so that huge selection is a waste of money for us. Overall, I'm on the fence with Pinstripes... Some things I like, some I don't. I think once Prairie Fire develops I will be less likely to go here. The one advantage is I can walk out my back door and be here in less that 5 minutes.

We started with beers and margaritas. Also, there were some complementary garlic bread and mint leaves side. It was nice to eat them until our friends arrived. They had some good variety of margaritas and wine, but limited on beer varieties. It was a Saturday evening and the whole prairie fire place was crowded. It was good to see a lot of people at one place in overland park. Appetizer and entree were between warm and hot. My friend who ordered a tuna pasta found it difficult to find tuna in that. But overall, the food was Good. Best thing about this place is that they have a lot of vegetarian varieties like the flat bread, pizza and pastas. Another good thing was the dessert.. I would recommend any chocolate based dessert they have, we tried em all and loved it. After everything, we paid and went to the bar to have a couple of shots. It was quick and nice. A little expensive, but can definitely try this restaurant once in a while.

Pinstripes is a beautiful new addition to Overland Park... It offers bowling, bocce and a full bar! It is an awesome experience to be here! The food is strikingly tasty and the bar is well stocked. It offers a wide selection of wines and beers also! There are 6 bocce courts...3 on each level and it's fun to play!

Great experience, Bocce and bowling, What an AWSOME experience. I didn't even know Bocce was available outside Cosby. Lol If you don't understand that ask your parents about Bill Cosby. Having a great time at the Elite Yelp event. The food is very good and the bar is well stocked.

So it is a beautiful place. a great deal of fun things. There is bowling and Bacci ball. There is a lot of fun stuff to do Food- It is fresh and good. We liked the flavors and there are a lot of vegetarian options. We were very happy with those options. We thought prices were comparable to other places at this level Service. This is what they really need to work on. We ordered a pizza, flat bread and a salad. Nothing fancy for lunch. It took them greater than thirty minutes. That is after we complained. We asked for some condiments and bread. Only after the second and third time did we get it. The reason I gave them such a good grade. Was because the manager cam and actually was so apologetic that she covered our order. I really was appreciative. I would go there again and give them another chance.

We were excited to try Pinstripes. The weather was nice and was a great day. First I called and asked if we could make a reservation. The hostess was clueless. First she said no, then she said maybe, then she took my name and number and my request. So maybe they take reservations? I said 6:30, she said 6:00 is better? Do you take reservations or not? She was flustered and nervous, and new? We got there at 6:30 and I gave someone my name. We were seated inside, which was fine b/c she said it would be a 30 minute wait for outside (it was loud and hot, so inside was fine). The atmosphere looked quite nice. We were seated and an abrupt, hurried waiter came and said hi. If it wasn't for him, my rating would be 5 stars. He was rude, and made us feel rushed and like we were a huge bother to him. First he gave us (great) bread and pesto and 4 waters. (Mine was the only water that looked like it was taken from the dirty water bin in the back. It was filmy with white things floating on it, gross). I was hesitant to ask him for a new water, but did. He made some excuse saying it was lemonade? It was not. He took our drink order and was rude. Almost told me to hurry. I asked him two questions and he seemed so bothered, I would have walked out if it was just my husband and I but we were with another couple, so I just picked a drink off the list when he should have said... I'll give you a minute and get the other drinks and come back. We asked him for some more bread and it took him 2 times for us to ask for it to get it. I don't care if I had to pay for it or not, we wanted some more bread. He didn't bring us more pesto, just a few scraggly pieces of bread. The first batch was awesome and a nice touch of the restaurant. All four of us loved our entree's. The food was great. My husband is a great tipper and never leaves a bad tip, even if the service is horrible. Me on the other hand, wanted to leave this waiter a tip: Be nice, your livlihood is tips. You will get more tips if you are friendly and helpful than rude. We want to come back. The food was great. If we come back I will ask NOT to be placed in this particular waiter's section. Suggestion to management. Train your hostess or whomever answers the phone to know your reservation policy and be friendly. Also, coach and suggest to wait staff, it is better for ALL to be friendly than rude. We will come back, but the 1st impression wasn't a great one and it will be some time before we return.

I love the atmosphere at Pinstripes...as did my children when we visited from St. Louis. We bowled, we played Bocce, and we dined. We tried the whole experience and this place is terrific. The fish was delicious and the drinks are great...the price is a little rich. But, overall, I will go back again and again.

Beautiful classic setting. Classiest bowling alley I have ever been in. I loved the oldies music they played. This was also my first experience with bocci ball which is a lot harder than you would think. Regardless, if you have a group or are trying to impress a date this would definitely be my recommendation.

First visit. Good service. Greeted and seated and drinks almost immediately. The bread and oil/basil were really good. Calamari was some of the best we have had. The lobster bisque was light and tasty. Had the prime rib sandwich and it was good as well. Ordered the chicken & goat cheese pasta. It had too much Rosemary. Loved the service though. We were just going to move on and the Manager walked over and asked the issue and promptly removed from our bill without even us asking. Overall, a great experience and a nice place. We will definitely come back again.

Wonderful night with my family. Food in the restaurant was amazingly good...and we are foodies. Had three different flat bread pizzas. All delicious especially the margherita (sp?). Hummos appetizer with bruscetta type salsa was great. Had the best chocolate martini ever. Happened to be a Thurs so cocktails were half price. Bowling was really fun for adults and kids (boys ages 11 and 7). Lovely setting with beautiful oil paintings. Plus great service!!

We didn't get a chance to bowl or play bocci but had a great meal in the restaurant. The filet trio was fantastic and my husband really enjoyed his braised short rib. A great surprise was the half off wine bottles they do on Friday nights. Had a wonderful time and will be back again - great food and good wine selection What a great addition to prairie fire!

I have eaten here at least three times and really enjoy the spicy crispy chicken sandwich. The prices are great and the environment is not too loud to have a good time. They seem to offer a little for everyone. Plenty of bowling lanes and bocce courts but you must reserve them ahead of time. Since they only require a name to reserve lanes, I wonder if people are missing their reservations. Anyway, give it a shot. You'll enjoy it!

    (4)
  • Alison S.

The atmosphere is wonderful and the lanes are great. Service, on the other hand, is horrible! We had reservations at 6 and a server didn't get to us until 6:30, and it wasn't even our server it was one we had to pull over to take care of us. When our apps came we did not receive plates so we proceeded to grab some from a table close by... A server (which turned out to be our server we never have even met yet- 45 minutes of being there) reprimanded our party for "taking plates that belonged to a party that was coming". Instead of getting more plates to set on the table next to us for that party that was not even there and mind you. Completely ridiculous and the rest of the service was about the same. Oh and that "special party" that we took plates from, didn't show up until 7:30! Oh when they did come we sure as hell didn't see our server again...Seems to me the manager needs to come around more and check on things. And they need to fire our server we had!

By far my favorite restaurant in south OP. We live nearby, and there are plenty of dining options to choose from around here. Time and time again, I keep going back to pinstripes . While the gaming -- bocce and bowling -- is really fun (particularly on a nice evening when you can be out on the patio), I think the food is what everyone is interested in! Let me start by saying that happy hour is the best deal on the planet as far as food is concerned. All of the pizzas , flatbreads and appetizers are half price, and that is saying a lot. Most pizzas and flatbreads could feed two people, and they are a screaming deal at $7! The next best thing about pinstripes is the consistency in the food. The first time we ate there, they had just opened up, and we sat in the bistro for lunch. The bistro was great, one of us had a chicken sandwich, another had a salad, and another had pasta. Rave reviews all around the table . The pasta they make onsite, and the lasagna is among the best I have had in town. It is a great choice whether dining out with family, or meeting some friends for happy hour. You just can't go wrong!

  • Arin A.

  • Tracy B.

BLAH.

Was not amused with this place. Way to expensive. Food was subpar. Food took a very long time to come out and was just kind of ... Bleh. For the prices we paid we compared to the expirence it was way off.

The food is good but a bit expensive. The bocce was fun but the court was rather wore out for a newish establishment. Fun to do occasionally, but not a definite repeat

Not fun.

I attended a Yelp Elite event here and got on the mailing list. My group was going for a team building so I suggested Pinstripes for bocce ball during happy hour. We ended up on the outdoor bocce ball court - it was $5 a person for an hour. Fortunately, it was a cool day, so the outdoor court was awesome. It was a weekday so it wasn't crowded. The server was very pleasant and efficient. She gave us suggestions for drinks and let us play longer than an hour because they were not busy. The bocce ball was really fun. I"m not sure how flat the court was, but it was still really fun. The appetizers were great. We had the tomato-mozzarella bruschetta ($5), chicken and avocado club flatbreadh ($7) and spinach and artichoke dip ($6). All the food was great. During happy hour, there is $4 house wine and tap beer and $5 well drinks. It's really a great happy hour. We had a great time and I will definitely be back. The patio with the fire pits looks really nice. They have a reverse happy hour at 9 on Sunday - Thursday. Sounds awesome.

Wow. So let down. Was really looking forward to taking my kids here. Everything went wrong! The hostess seated us at a table that a party of people had set up camp in and left is to "kick them out", mortifying! Plus, they sat me and my young children next to a party that had been drinking quite a bit, at 2pm, and were quite loud. Had to ask for table to be cleaned, for cutlery, for menus to be taken away. Our order was sent to wrong table, they started to carve into it then brought it over so once again I was embarrassed by having to ask for another order. (Didn't want the lady who had cut into my food to be insulted but I didn't want it then!) We got two replacement orders, had to wait almost ten minutes for third, fries and bruschetta were ice cold. To his credit, manager bent over backwards to rectify situation, I think the staff is just untrained and careless. It wasn't even very busy! Really bummed, looks like such a nice place and I played bocce as a kid so was really looking forward to going there often.

The kids meal was very reasonably priced. It came with a starter meal beverage and dessert for only 8 dollars. The food was pretty decent although the bocce ball was a little pricey at 45 dollars for four people.

If it weren't for my food being amazing (I had the short ribs...amazing!!!) I would give this restaurant a lower score. Reading through the reviews I see I am not the only one who had terrible service there. We walked in at about 6:15 and the hostess told us that happy hour was still on for another 15 min. Sweet! We debated on where to sit but we sat in the 'bistro' (as I was later told it was called) and she gave us the happy hour menu. A waiter (we'll call him waiter #1) came up and asked us what we wanted. We had the happy hour menu in our hand and were going to order a drink and were told that they only serve happy hour in the bar or patio. Then another waiter (who I guess was supposed to be our 'real' waiter, but we'll call waiter #2) came up and rudely informed us (again) that we were mistaken and couldn't order from the happy hour menu. We considered sitting outside and waiter # 1 said he would be happy to ring our drinks for us and bring them out to us because by now it was like 6:25. Waiter #2 started to argue that we wouldn't have enough time because Happy Hour was over. We decided to let it slide and just stay where we were. Waiter #1, thankfully, changed it so that he was our waiter and not the rude guy. He turned the experience around for us and was super friendly and helpful. Our dinners were amazing. Dessert looked great, though I didn't have any myself. Overall - the experience could have been terrible if not for this nice, young waiter who seemed to care if we had a good meal or not. I have a feeling my 'Waiter #2' is the same waiter mentioned below in a few of the reviews.

I had eaten at pin stripes one other time and liked the food, and the service, so I was really looking forward to the all you can eat spaghetti dinner, for 10 bucks. It was the worst service, and especially the worst quality of spaghetti and meat balls I have ever had!!! It's a shame because I really like the atmosphere of the games etc. but for now on, I won't waste my money or time eating there, I will just drink and play games. I have tasted better spaghetti out of a can, I'm really just guessing, but it was that bad.

BLAH.

Nope.

Absolutely disappointing. After eating at paradise dinner and Newport grill, two other restaurants in the Prairie Fire complex, I had hight expectations for pinstripes. Boy was I let down. The servers were decently friendly, the kind of server you would expect at Applebee's, a little more casual. But the ticket times and food quality were terrible. The food itself was fairly pricey for the environment. When I spend $18 on pasta I expect perfection. The pasta I was served was awful. The Rosemary took over the dish, and I couldn't taste anything else. To make matters worse, it wasn't fresh rosemary which always tastes much better, it was old. The pasta was over cooked, and the sauce was separating because it was improperly cooked. My son got the kids Mac and cheese. It was Kraft brand. Not impressive. I could have made that at home for much cheaper. If the ticket prices were cheaper, I wouldn't be so upset, but I could have eaten at a swanky place on the plaza for this price, and I would have been satisfied. What makes matters worse is that our server knew we weren't fans of the food, and did nothing to remedy the situation. I haven't done the whole bowling experience, but from now on if I want to bowl, I'll got to a bowling alley, and go to a nice restaurant afterwards.

The food is great and the service was very attentive. The bowling was very fun they had cosmic bowling for all ages. It's good prices and very fancy. I always go with my friends on the weekends.

Horrendous service over and over and over again. Truly consistently pathetic. We've been here a dozen times and used to frequent Pin Stripes in Chicago. It's disappointing to see such a great concept go mismanaged.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
